I’m really excited to be in the process of my first collaboration, The Lunchbox Project. Currently students from China, Australia and most recently Turkey are participating. The project was initiated by Jess McCulloch in Australia, the idea being that students from different parts of the globe produce a project describing what they have for lunch. Students will produce material in their first language and the language they are learning, this gives the students opportunity to learn about other cultures as well as get a glimpse of the language learning experience of students in other parts of the world. Please click on the link occasionally and check out the students’ progress, or if you have students who are suitable for the project please participate!
I have been teaching English as a foreign language in China for the past four years, learning Chinese for the past two. My aim for this blog is to document some of the work happening in both the classroom environments I spend my time in. I am interested in the use of web tools and online learning for language learners and have begun to gradually integrate this into my EFL classes, starting with blogs and online networks such as Ning. I would like to use this space to share ideas and resources, to talk about language and culture and connect with other language teachers and learners.
Happy learning.
