I want to keep a record of this type of work for both the students and myself, so I have set up a wiki for each of my classes; giving each student a page to keep any projects they do. Hopefully the students will enjoy the process and see their own development over time. Also, I have set up a wiki to collect projects by theme, this wiki is open to any teachers / students to join and add projects of their own. The monsters page is already up, so any teachers interested in adding student work about monsters (in any language) please do! More projects to come…

Students will produce material in their first language and the language they are learning, this gives the students opportunity to learn about other cultures as well as get a glimpse of the language learning experience of students in other parts of the world. Please click on the link occasionally and check out the students’ progress, or if you have students who are suitable for the project please participate!

I have been teaching English as a foreign language in China for the past four years, learning Chinese for the past two. My aim for this blog is to document some of the work happening in both the classroom environments I spend my time in. I am interested in the use of web tools and online learning for language learners and have begun to gradually integrate this into my EFL classes, starting with blogs and online networks such as Ning. I would like to use this space to share ideas and resources, to talk about language and culture and connect with other language teachers and learners.

Happy learning.
